Anya McFadden, 16, passed away peacefully at Children's Hospital in Denver Colorado following a short hospital stay on Friday, January 16.

She is preceded in death by her grandfather, Michael Paul McFadden. Anya is survived by her parents, Anthony and Jessica McFadden, her siblings Leif, Eleanor and Evelyn McFadden, her maternal grandparents Anthony and Lynn Storey and her paternal grandmother, Katherine McFadden; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and other family and friends who loved her and will miss her.

Anya was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on December 19, 2009. In June 2010, she and her family moved to Santa Barbara, California where she spent 10 years of her childhood followed by a move to Colorado in June 2020. She was a lovely young lady of tremendous ability, talent, and initiative who planned for her future. Anya was an accomplished pianist and baker. She played piano every day, studied under private instruction, and especially enjoyed working out difficult Chopin pieces. Anya was always interested in living creatures and was planning to become a biologist. This interest was reflected in the fish and reptile habitats she designed and built with her father and kept in her room. She excelled academically, earning a Principal's Award for maintaining a 4.0 GPA in her freshman year at Longmont High School where she was also an active member of the extracurricular SMART team, studying aspects of biochemistry. Anya loved her family deeply, was deeply loved by all of them, and will be forever missed.

A memorial service will be held at Faith Community Lutheran Church, 9775 Ute Highway, Longmont Colorado, at 11 AM, Wednesday, February 4, 2026.
