Angie was a multi-faceted modern woman whose qualities of courage, ingenuity, honesty, generosity, and the ability to embrace challenges head-on, made her successful in all aspects of her life. Community service was important to her at a young age. She became a member of Beta Sigma Phi (Delta Chapter) Sorority whose focus was community service, and the development of cultural appreciation. She served as the chapter's Secretary, Treasurer, and President, and in 1974 she had the honor of being selected as the Chapter's Valentine Queen. She completed a successful career with New Mexico State government where she served in various upper management positions. After retirement, she went on to work for the State Legislature, on a seasonal basis, as the Chief Financial Officer for the State Senate.
Even with everything she had accomplished in life, Angie's family was her heart. Nothing made her happier than sharing her heritage, faith, and numerous talents with her children and grandchildren. This included having her family participate in spiritual and cultural events, cooking, camping, oil painting, sewing, horseback riding, and gardening. Throughout the years, she and her beloved husband Willie were often asked to lead wedding marchas – a testament to their strong relationship and faith. It brought her great joy to host holiday events and family reunions, and you could always count on Angie to lend a helping hand – even opening up her home if needed.
Angie was a bright light in the world...and she used that light to illuminate the aspirations and dreams of those around her. Her contagious laugh and calm demeanor touched so many lives, and she will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew and loved her.
