Angelo Paul Romero, affectionately known as "Ang," departed this world unexpectedly on February 3, 2026, in Santa Fe, the city that cradled his birth on May 13, 1994. In his brief time amongst us, Angelo left an indelible mark on the lives he touched, a testament to the brilliance of his spirit and the warmth of his heart. He was a son, a brother, a friend, and a colleague, a man who lived life to its fullest with a contagious zest for adventure.

Spending the past six years of his career as a dedicated UPS driver, Angelo brought a unique charm to the routine motions of delivery. His presence permeated the office and the neighborhoods he served, where he was more than just a courier; he was a beacon of kindness and understanding, always making others feel seen and valued. Angelo possessed an uncanny ability to walk into any room and leave with new friends, forging deeper connections with each encounter.

Angelo was an eclectic spirit, one who thrived in the beauty of nature. His hobbies mirrored his adventurous essence—snowboarding, hiking, cliff diving, and mountain biking were but a few ways he reveled in the great outdoors. He took to the skies for breathtaking flyovers in helicopters, and his love for photography and songwriting allowed him to capture the fleeting moments of joy that life gifted him. He traveled widely, embracing the world as his playground, with adventures that took him to captivating places like Japan, Iceland, Mexico, Maui, Kauai, and Alaska. Those who attempted to keep pace with his wanderlust often found themselves outmatched by his boundless energy and passion for exploration.

A true intellectual at heart, Angelo was more than just a brilliant boy in school; he was also eccentric and captivating in his pursuits. His memories and expressions, preserved through the lenses of his camera and the pages of his journals, continue to inspire those who cherish his legacy.

Angelo's prodigious personality lit up the lives of all who met him. He was a rare gift—a person whose love and compassion resonated deeply within the hearts of all. He cared profoundly about who people were, nurturing a deep-seated sense of belonging in a fast-moving world. It is said that every relationship with Angelo felt longstanding, as if you had known him forever, and indeed, he carried the essence of many vibrant connections with him as he traversed this life.

Survived by his beloved mother, Elena Mae Montoya; his sister, Karmela Romero; his grandmother, Carmela Romero; and numerous cousins, uncles, and an aunt, Angelo’s spirit continues to shimmer through the love of his family. Marcus (Renee) Romero and their children, Steven and Amariah Romero, along with cousins Clyde III, Tiffany, Jolene, Steven, Jessica, Marcos, Andrew, Isaac, Lilyanna, Tyler, and Emma, alongside uncles Clyde Archibeque Jr., Steve Archibeque, and Charles Martinez, remember him fondly, as do many others whose lives were graced by his presence.

Angelo is preceded in death by his father, Louie (Louis) Romero; his brother, Steven Romero; and grandparents Margarito Romero, Vivian Archibeque-Martinez, Eric David Montoya; great-grandparents Clyde Archibeque and Isabell Archibeque; cousin Frankie Johnson, Jr.; and uncle Dennis Romero. Their memories serve as profound reminders of the love that continues to surround him, transcending the divide between this world and the next.

Though Angelo has journeyed beyond our sight, the echoes of his laughter and the warmth of his spirit will forever remain imprinted on our hearts, lighting the path for all who had the blessing of knowing him. In his honor, let us embrace life as he did—with open hearts, unyielding passion, and an ever-present appreciation for the beauty of our world.
