Alfredo (Fred) R. Sena, July 22, 1944 – November 24, 2025, passed away due to complications from injuries sustained in an accident on October 20, 2025. Fred, 81 was born to Alfredo and Elisaria Sena in Pecos, New Mexico. Fred was a longtime radio presence in Santa Fe. He and his wife Dolores Sena owned KVSF AM 1260 and KNYN FM radio stations in Santa Fe. He started as a janitor, held various titles at the station and was popularly known as “Fred Friendly” on the air. Fred was also a weekend anchor for KGGM TV (KRQE) channel 13. Career highlights include being named Broadcaster of the Year by the New Mexico Broadcasters Association in 1984 and serving as Chairman of the NMBA from 1979 to 1980. His work also impacted broadcasting in the Navajo Tribal Council as a consultant to develop and construct a radio station now known as the Voice of the Navajo Nation. Fred was also known as a staunch supporter of the Santa Fe community as through fundraising and promotion of public projects and programs. He even acted as President of the Santa Fe Little League, National League.

While Sena was well known for his public presence, he was even more cherished as a devoted family man and a loyal friend to many. He was a central figure in both his immediate and extended family—warm-hearted, cheerful, and endlessly supportive. He enjoyed connecting with people wherever he went. His greatest legacy was the meaningful relationships he nurtured with each member of his family. Always generous with his time, he was willing to support everyone in any way he could. He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Dolores Sena; his son, Alfred Sena, and wife, Rhonda Sena; his daughter, Patricia Sena-Bolding, and husband, Bret Bolding; his grandchildren, Alfred Sena Jr. and wife, Myranda Sena, Elizaria Bolding-Grady and husband, Taylor Grady, Alexander Sena, Lucas Bolding, and Sophia Anderson and husband, Ryan Anderson; and his great-grandchildren, Rylan Sena, Bret Grady, McKenzie Sena, Magnolia Grady, and Jameson Grady.
